The League of Women Voters Rochester (LWV-R) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of individuals who subscribe to our communications. We collect and use personal information only as needed to carry out our nonpartisan mission of voter education, advocacy, and civic engagement.
This Communications Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your information.
LWV-R does not rent, sell, trade, or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing, fundraising, or commercial purposes without explicit consent, except as required by law or as described in this policy.

Third-Party Service Providers
LWV-R uses third-party platforms to manage communications, including The Databank and Outreach Circle/League in Action. These service providers process information on LWV-R’s behalf and are subject to their own privacy and security policies. LWV-R does not authorize these providers to use personal information for purposes other than providing services to LWV-R.

Access to MailChimp (email newsletter subscription information) is password protected, and only shared with the volunteers who handle data entry and retrieval. MailChimp has its own privacy policy.

While LWV-R takes reasonable steps to protect personal information, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Unsubscribe from emails or texts at any time using the instructions provided in each communication
Request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information
Request information about how their data is used

Retention of Information
LWV-R retains subscriber information for as long as necessary to fulfill communications purposes or as required by law. Individuals may request deletion of their information at any time.
